Vegas Shopping

July 10, 2010
I slept late and we woke up early in the morning. Good thing it’s a 4-hour drive so i can catch up on my sleep. So this was a last minute trip (at least for me it was, i didn’t know about it ‘til the day before). I packed lightly since we’re only staying for the weekend.
We arrived at Nevada, picked up a family friend/boss, TL; went straight to seafood city; met up with cousins and ate at chowking. I ordered mongolian beef - and it was an utter disappointment. It tasted quite terrible but good thing my dad had extra fried chicken. Then my uncle ordered for Halo-Halo and it was huge. I had one for myself and i couldn’t finish it. I usually love that drink but not with ube icecream, beans, and those hard nasty things. The main thing i love about halo-halo is the sweet milk and ice. So anyways, we went to the hotel/casino called Boulder Station, dropped off our luggage and went to “Chinatown”, it wasn’t what i hoped for, it was a normal isolated shop with chinese stuff. Then the ‘kids’ were dropped off at Gameworks while my parents, TL, and I went to the Premium Outlet. Oh yesh. I walked around with TL and went around the whole outlet. I only bought a $5 baseball tee and TL bought me headbands. She also got the same one for her nieces. We spent 3 hours walking, only to buy little things. She bought a $100 watch at Zumiez, and a top from rue21. Strangely, she shopped at teenage stores knowing her age was in the 50s. Oh well, im very grateful since she was so nice. She even gave me $50 when we dropped her off her house. We picked up the guys at gameworks, then ate at the foodcourt and ordered panda express. Then my uncle and aunt came and we left. They were staying at a different hotel however.

I wore my headband today and styled my hair up. We roamed the hotel before eating brunch at a buffet. Oh and did i mention that the hotel was also a casino? We stinked of cigarettes and it was the worst. But the food was delicious. My dad also sneaked out of the buffet, to play one of the slots in the casino, and managed to win $19. My uncle was so generous and gave me $20! What is up with Vegas, i received a lotta money and i didn’t even play in the Casino. After that, we packed our stuff and moved to my uncle’s hotel. It was amazingly gorgeous. The hotel was called ‘Paris’ and obviously, the theme was of Paris. They even had a replica of the eiffel tower in front. The shops downstairs were stunning and i couldn’t wait to walk around. My cousins left, my parents slacked in the hotel room, my brother couldn’t care less and just played his PSP, while i took the hotel key, went downstairs, and window shopped. Oh and before i left, my dad gave me and my brother $20 each! Wow, i sure got a lot. The inside of the hotel felt like i was on the streets of paris, they even had the ceiling painted as a sky, the floors decorated into rocky grounds. They had this beautiful shop full of vintage girly things. It was wonderful to look at. Then i found these amazing shoes at a store called Schooz. it was also for sale - but not enough to fit my budget. We walked outside and it was burning hot. We were unsure of what to do so we roamed the streets of Las Vegas. We eventually got to this Hawaiian Marketplace which is a place full of shops with amazing stuff - my kind of view of ‘chinatown’ but with more expensive stuff. boo. Then this italian guy stopped me to paint my nails and advertise his nail-art stamping kit. it was so cute but way too expensive. Then we found a Filipino restaurant and ate caldereta and halo-halo (again) the dish tasted great though! We walked some more ‘til we reached the ‘Miracle-Mile Mall’ i was looking for shoes but most of them were hecka expensive. I bought a nice dolman shirt at H&M and now im in love with that store. We also bought a smoothie and a cookie at this Nestle Toll House Cafe and walked some more. Then my eye caught the most amazing, fantastic, gorgeous store of all - Urban Outfitters. The store was designed so uniquely i just had to go in, ignoring my brother’s grunges. Of course, i couldn’t buy anything since they’re all so much but i did take pictures in the store haha. We went back to the hotel, stayed for the night, and i made my dad promise to bring me to the mall on tuesday when we get back to Arizona.

I wore my new H&M striped-dolman shirt and i lalalove it. We packed our stuff, left the beautiful hotel and ate at Pinoy-Pinay, a filipino restaurant. My brother and I loved the the caldereta so much that we decided to eat it again. Then we went to seafood city to do some filipino grovery shopping. We left Nevada, stopped by at McDonlad’s, arrived at Arizona, went to my aunt’s house and gave her order of taho. I also got to play with my adorable little cousins, josh and ulrich. Then my aunt also gave me $20 ‘to watch despicable me’ - as her excuse of repaying my parents. But i kept it for myself anyhow.

Sisters for Five Days

So my cousin and her family invited me to go with them to California for the 4th of July weekend. At first, i felt a little uncomfortable being the only non-family member in their ‘family’ vacation but it was fun most of the time. Especially the part where i leave home and not wash the dishes the whole time.

My suitcase was packed, filled, and bulky. It sucks because it was my time of the month and we are going to the beach. Oh fun. We drove for 6 hours, stopped at McDonalds, the outlet (starbucks, juicy couture, charlotte russe), and the hotel. We stayed at Oceanside, Cali and our hotel was by the beach! It was wonderful and we got to walk around the pier. My aunt bought us ice cream and it was way too much for me. Why do they eat so much fattening stuff - like mcdonald’s, ice cream, french fries, chips? We watched the movie Taken on TV at night and fell asleep late.

My cousin’s brother arrived today. We went by the beach, met up with their second cousins and ate. We walked around the shops, bought clothes at T-shirt mart and i got this awesome Lifeguard shirt. We also found unique shops that sell vintage and weird things. My cousin bought sunglasses that were exactly like my black ones that broke -_- Oh and we made smoothies from mango syrup which didn’t taste as good as real fruit.

My uncle (cousin’s father) arrived today. We got a free facial at the hotel activity center. We felt bad for not ordering anything and taking advantage of their make up stuff. We went fishing at night and it was hecka freezing outside. We sat like hobos, sang songs, drank chocolate milk, and used the cups as money holders. There were a lot of people fishing at the pier.

We packed our stuff because we were leaving the hotel today to go to Anaheim, Cali. But before we left, we met up with their other second cousins and a 2 of them were teenage guys my age. I was uncomfortable since im not related to anyone and the adults don’t even know who i am. They went to the beach while me and my cousins went to the pier to meet up with their dad. He was fishing and had already caught 3 small fishes. We stayed there pretty long and decided to go to the beach to eat. We ate McDonalds (again), sat by the beach, and sang songs while their cousin plays the guitar. We sneaked back in the hotel to go to the pool by the 2nd floor. While they were swimming, me and my cousins went to the activity center to play cards and secretly take their cookies. We were begging my 11 yr old cousin, M.E. to take some for us and she confidently took them and ate. I can’t believe her boldness aha. That’s what is so awesome about her - and the fact that she got cookies for us. We went to the sauna, gym, and they finally went swimming. I just sat and waited. I then went back to the activity center and saw their cousins and my 7 yr old cousin, B.E. The employee even served us lemonade and choco chip cookies (which i was desperately hoping for). We played cards and got to know each other - in a rude/fighting/silly way? TJ together with his little bro could not believe that i was 16 and going to be a senior. I think they teased me too much. But yeah, he turned out to be 17. We played cards, i beat his brother at the game ‘Speed’, TJ beat me, we played blocks, and laughed a lot. Then my cousins came and ate cookies too. We went to the gym, the sauna, and had a fun time. We were pretty much cramped in the sauna since there were a lot of us. We finally went down to the game room, played pool, and said our goodbyes. It was a fun day fo shoo. We then left to go to Anaheim. We got to the resort, and the ‘adults’ left to go to the House of Blues. We played outside - i learned how to do a one-hand cartwheel though it hurts. We played leap frog and i got squished my M.E. that was taller than me. But it was fun. We watched TV the whole night, B.E. went to sleep with me and R.E. since M.E. fell asleep on the other room. We were cracking up the whole night since B.E. said odd things to us.

Happy fourth of july. We left for Downtown Disney, walked around the shops, ate at a Mexican Resto, then a mariachi band sang to me ‘cause they thought it was my birthday (my older cousin pointed me out). It was so embarrassing and we were all laughing. They even gave me a flan cake with a candle. We ate a huge burrito and i felt bad ‘cause i couldn’t finish it. M.E. played this finger game with me and we were about to die from laughter. We then walked around outside, went to a mexican grocery store, saw a ‘panaderia’ where you walk in and pick your own bread. My cousins got so excited. We went back to Downtown Disney to watch the fireworks. We couldn’t get a good view but it was fun. After, we tried out makeup from sephora, R.E. tried this ‘balm’ thing on her lips and the employee told her it wasn’t a lip balm but a hand cleansing thing. We were laughing a lot.

July 5, 2010
We packed our stuff and went to the activity center to play pool, bought food from the snack bar, and roamed around. We left the resort, went to the bank to withdraw money, my cousins looked through my iPod, and went straight to chinatown! My relatives had a real good time there *cough*thankstome*cough* haha kidding. But we seriously loved it there. I got a few things, my cousins and aunt got a lot. I bought sunglasses, an owl ring (M.E. got the same one right after), and a bracelet for my brother. I was pressured to buy this purse without giving it thought. Then i found a better purse for much less and showed it to my cousins. I was so frustrated when i didn’t have money to buy it since R.E. borrowed $10 so i was left with $4. Then their mother came and helped them pick out purses for M.E. i also picked out this black and pink purse for her but they shrugged me off and O.E. said he liked the gold better. Although i think that it looked too formal for her. But anyways, I was just standing there, looking at my dream purse when R.E. picked it up. I was so frustrated that my jaw slightly dropped. I couldn’t do anything but luckily, she found another purse. Goodness, i was about to explode but im too polite to do anything. In the end, they ‘picked’ out the black and pink purse (that i showed them before) and claimed to have found it. This is exactly the reason why im not fond of shopping with other people that are not my own family. We left the town, ate at burger king / taco bell, then went home to AZ. my dad got to their house fast and i went back home.
